Transport Network Modeling Workshop |
| |
This workshop aims to explore the business case and business opportunities in advanced transport modelling applications using high performance computing.
The workshop will investigate and prioritise the challenges and barriers faced within transport modelling across road, rail and maritime sectors, and build upon these and establish “what is next”, with input to the transport roadmap.
We have confirmed presentations from:
Dave Wallom, Oxford University : Hear about the research currently undertaken at Oxford in Transport modelling. Hear about the various business opportunities from this work in the Road, Rail and Maritime sectors.
Eddie Eilson, Bristol University : Presentation on “kernel-based fusion of highway data”. Hear about the work of data fusing and data mashing with highway traffic data sets, and the opportunities that this presents.
Tristan Smith, UCL : Hear from the Low carbon shipping project about the challenges and opportunities coming from the shipping sector.
The workshop will establish “What is next”, with input into the KTN transport roadmap, which will be used to develop a long-term vision and adaptive action plan for transport sustainability and policy.
