Multi-Material Structures – Challenges and Solutions for the Transport Supply Chain
On Monday 14th June the EPSRC LATEST (Light Alloys Towards Environmentally Sustainable Transport) Portfolio Partnership and the Materials KTN will host a symposium on Multi-Material Structures – Challenges and Solutions for the Transport Supply Chain.
A key way forward for lightweighting and cost reduction in transport design and manufacture is the development and use of multi-material structures. The Symposium will take a challenge/solution based approach to the transport supply chain .i.e. joining dissimilar materials, defabrication and production.
This one-day event will include presentations from the aerospace, automotive, supply chain and manufacturing sectors (Rolls-Royce, Bentley, TWI) as well as a networking session with industrialists, academics and professional bodies.
There will also be a tour of the newly opened National Composites Certification and Evaluation Facility (NCCEF), part of the Northwest Composites Centre.
The symposium will take place in the MIB Building at the University of Manchester and registration will begin at 9.30am.
A buffet lunch will be provided.
The registration fee is £60 and £40 for full time students.
