BSi has agreed for draft standards from technical committee EPL/278 "Road Transport Informatics" to be made available free to ITS KTN members. Draft standards for comment include BSi, CEN and ISO standards relating to the relevant committess that EPL/278 shadows.
This information is available to KTN members from UK-based organisations who have a demonstrable, legitimate professional or commercial interest in matters falling under the terms of reference of BSI EPL/278 technical committee. The mission of the committee as defined by BSi is:
EPL/278 "Road Transport Informatics" covers standardisation in the field of telematics to be applied to road traffic and transport including those elements that need technical harmonisation for intermodal operation in relation to other means of transport including: vehicle containers, swap body and goods wagon identification, communication between vehicles and road infrastructure,communication between vehicles, vehicle man made interfacing as far as telematics is concerned, traffic and parking management, user fee collection, public transport management, user information. It shadows the European committee CEN/TC 278 (Road transport & traffic telematics) and the International committee ISO/TC 204 (Intelligent transport systems).
