Security, Crime Reduction and Emergency Planning

Security is likely to remain a major factor in the development of transport systems for the foreseeable future and an appropriate balance is needed to manage risks to an acceptable level in a way that does not place unreasonable costs on operators or the travelling public.

ITS offers to support crime reduction and emergency planning both in terms of roads policing and more broadly as an intelligence tool.
