About innovITS

We are the UK centre for excellence in transport telematics and technology for sustainable mobility.

Our VISION is for the UK to be a global centre of excellence for ITS.

Our MISSION is to help the United Kingdom to become a leading centre of excellence in transport telematics for sustainable mobility through recognition of innovITS as the UK gateway for industry expertise in the ITS field.

innovITS will achieve this through:

analysis of UK and world ITS markets,
creation of networks including a high quality website,
promotion of best practice,
co-ordination of collaborative projects and
high quality advice to UK industry.

innovITS was established in 2005 in response to recommendations from the Automotive Innovation & Growth Team (AIGT) with funding from what was then the UK DTI, now department for Business Innovations and Skills.

innovITS leads the ITS Knowledge Transfer Network which provides a platform to bring together industry thinking, to stimulate collaborative working across ITS industries and services, and to inform the direction of ITS research and development. More about the ITS KTN

innovITS - ADVANCE is a futuristic research and development centre to be based in the UK. The new facility will enable customers from the telecommunications, automotive and electronics industries, as well as highways authorities and operators, to develop, test and validate future transport technologies in a safe highly controlled environment.
